Drawer Face Refinishing
The entire drawer face was badly damaged. Not only did this need major veneer work, but it also needed coloring and polishing.
Once the new veneer was in place, it needed to be colored to match (see my “Veneer Repair” page for the reveneering process).
This veneer was brand new, but it had to be colored and aged to match the rest of this 150+ year old piece.
Once the coloring was done, all that was left was a fresh polish to bring the drawer face back to life.
Pembroke Table Restoration
This antique Pembroke table has the ability to store away in a small area, but was damaged so bad it was unusable.
This table had been neglected for years. The finish was almost completely worn off, and the wood underneath was stained.
After disassembling the table, repairs were made, then it was time to strip the old finish off.
Once stripped, all that was needed was a new coat of polish and a waxing.
A fresh polish lets the beautiful grain come through.
Various Finish Restoration Work
A fresh polish and wax really shows off the incredible inlay work on this antique chair.
The quarter sawn white oak pops after a fresh polish.
A close up of the top of this chest of drawers really shows how fresh shellac and wax can brighten up the cherry.
That old shellac had darkened so much, it was hiding the beautiful quarter sawn white oak underneath.
